My poor baby was attacked by our neighbor's dog which was a pitbull. Karmen was on a leash and we were walking towards our car to pick up Marshall. Out of no where the dog start attacking Karmen. Its stupid owner wasn't watching it, it wasn't on a leash, and I doubt it was up to date on it's shots. It wouldn't get off of Karmen so I kicked it and it still wouldn't let go so I kicked it again and then finally the owner came out. By that time I was hysterical and so scared for Karmen. After we picked Marshall up we called animal control and took her to the Animal hospital. The vet shaved her head and cleaned her wounds. I'm so happy there wasn't any other injuries.

Super Bowl Cake

This year I decided to try and make a football helmet for the Super Bowl. I carved the helmet out of styro? foam and covered it with fondant. You can also use rice crispy treats to form objects but I used what I had on hand. The grass I used a #233 tip and then covered the base with fondant.

Wedding Cake

While I was visiting Utah I helped Marshall's mom make a wedding cake for one of her neighbors. The bride wanted a completely white "romantic" cake. This cake was massive! It was 4 tiers and each tier had 3 layers.

I got to use the cake cricket which is AMAZING! All the details on the cake were cut out with the machine. The bottom layer took me an hour and a half to decorate. The whole cake took 13 hours to stack and decorate.

Marshall always checks Karmen's skin but he never checks her beard so he decided to last night. All of a sudden I hear Marshall yelling my name tell me to come into the room!

She had a tick in her beard it was sooo gross!

Marshall wouldn't touch it and was freaking out so I tried every wise tell to get that nasty thing out.

First we tried using a match to make it back out when that didn't work Marshall went to the store to get rubbing alcohol.

When those didn't work I decided to just pull the tick out with tweezers! It was so engorged with blood it was almost the size of a Q-tip!

I LOVE Fall/Halloween! Marshall finally allowed me to decorate for the Holiday on the 1st. Here's what I've been up to with ALL my spare time while Marshall is studying.

Someone left this chair behind so I nabbed it! I painted it black with a gloss finish and reupholstered the seat with my favorite print damask.

I used ghost pumpkins and covered them in lace from the fabric store!

I made tonz of these little spiders out of black jewelry beads.

September in NY

Well Marshall and I are finally into our apartment after a month of living with other people! I really like our apartment and I love our porch where we have BBQ's with our friends. New York is awesome and I love all the new people that I've meet! We went to Washington Park to play soccer with the Adler's a few weeks ago. Yannick wasn't impressed with our soccer skills but it was still fun.

Marshall is on his third week of school and he is doing really well! I swear he is always studying unless there is a football game on. The leaves are starting to change and its getting a little nippy at night.

I got a job! I'm going to be a Receptionist at the St. Peters Dental Clinic. I'm so happy to have a job so don't feel guilty when I spend money. I think its going to be a really good job and everyone seems really nice!

We had a girls night last Saturday with all the girls from my branch and this is what I made for the treat. We played games and it was really fun to get to know everyone better.

I'll post some pictures of our apartment later when its completely decorated!

On Friday the Spouses and Parents were invited to a mock class held by the Dean. It was interesting but pretty boring because the case was from the 1800's. I'm glad its not me going to Law school! After the swearing in ceremony Carolin and I met up with the guys for the Dean's Toast and refreshments on the front lawn of the school.

We have started getting comfortable living in NY now. The thing I like the most is there are parks everywhere! They aren't just like the ones you see back home they are huge and they have statues everywhere. There isn't just some soccer fields and playgrounds they have beautiful landscaping, flowers and trees everywhere! This is Washington Park that is right next to our apartment. Karmen is going to love the park when she flies here in September! I'm so excited for the Fall here everyone says the leaves are so much more vivid here.

Marshall started Orientation today yay! Last week we went on a tour of the school. It was way fun to see a the classrooms. they look like miniature court rooms it was awesome!

Well we celebrated our one year anniversary on the 14Th its crazy to think that we've been married a year already!

Albany, New York

So we finally made it to New York after 4 days of driving! I drove the whole way because our car was so full Marshall couldn't fit behind the wheel. Well what can I say New York is so different from Utah. When we first drove in we didn't know where to go so we ended up in downtown which is a scary part of town. We finally got ahold of the Branch President and he offered to let us stay with him until we found a place to stay. He and his family have been so nice to us its made the transition so much easier. Albany is so pretty and green! We found a place to live but we can't move in until Sept. 1st. So we are still in limbo for the time being!

Marshall graduated with his Batchelors degree in Psychology this May! He couldn't walk with his class because he was coaching his track team so we finally got a pic. I'm so proud of him and I'm excited for our future together!

Our Journey

Last night Marshall and I started planning our move to New York! The first day we decided that we will drive to North Platte, NE which is about 10 hours. From there we will drive 9 hours to Davenport, IA. Next stop will be Cleveland, OH for another 8 hour drive. Then to our final destination to Albany, New York. Its going to be a long 2,329 miles and more than 35 hours to get there. Its going to be a new and exciting experience for us and I'm glad for this new adventure!

I'm running in the Centerville Freedom Run 5K then off to the parade. Marshall's parents got a condo in Park City for Sunday and Monday so i'm excited for this weekend!

This is the song I've been singing for the past 12 hours. Marshall got into Albany Law School and I've been so happy the past few hours. I'm so glad we aren't going to North Dakota anymore! We are still waiting on Kansas for their decision. They decided on 25Th and then tell us a few days after that. Even though they are a better school than Albany I hope they say no! I really want to go to New York.

Twilight Saga

So I'm a total dork about the twilight books and movies, yes I know their writen for teenagers... So Eclipse comes on June 30th so I decided I would show my support by making a cake! Here is the progress so far on some of the decorations. I'm taking the pictures from all four books and incoperating them into a grand finaly cake! Yes I know I'm a nerd.

This cake was so much fun to make for my friend Jamie. She is having a little boy in the next few weeks and we threw her a work baby shower. Instead of using fondant to cover the cake I tried just using butter cream. It tastes better than fondant but doesn't look as neat. I made the cutest baby shoes for her and they turned out really good for my first attempt.

Junior High District

This year district was held at Woodscross High School instead of Viewmont :( It would have been fun to have the girls run there like Marshall and I had for so many years but oh well. Marshall's girls took 2nd place! They did so good for only having 10 of them that made it to district. They only lost by about 10 points to Centerville that had tonz of girls on their team. There were some tears but for the most part everything went amazing! Here's some pics of these cute girls.

What's new this week!

For the past few months Marshall has been the head coach of North Layton's girls track team. Its been quite an adventure for him! Marshall has a whole new view about girls/women from spending so much time with these girls. 12-15 year old girls are an emotional roller coaster and I'm glad that Marshall is so patient with them. Everyone thought that he couldn't do it but he did! The girls won south end and they are on their way to district next week. This has been a really good learning experience for him and I know if we have a little girl hes going to be a great dad!

Here's what I made in my course 3 class this week. It's a funfettie cake with cream cheese filling covered in fondant with a fondant bow and flowers. YUM!

Law School!

Marshall and I have been waiting months to find out where he will be going to Law School. After applying to 15 schools and getting many rejection letters and put on waiting lists he GOT IN!!! He got a letter from University of North Dakotasaying that he'll be starting in the fall!

It's such a relief knowing that he got in and we don't have to wait another year. We are still waiting on Kansas and Albany and we will go there instead of ND if he gets in. So we'll be off to North Dakota/Kansas/Albany end of July beginning of August. Kansas told him that they'll let him know their decision at the end of the month. So it's either a Fighting Sue thats big into hockey or the Jayhawks that are huge with basketball...

I'm so proud of my husband and everything hes accoplished in the past few years!

Course Two

So this week I finished course 2 in my cake decorating classes! Yay It's been so much fun these past 4 weeks. This course was all about royal icing and making new flowers.

My flowers look sooo much better in course 2 because we are using royal icing. Royal icing is stiffer and dries really hard compared to buttercream frosting. I learned how to do the basket weave it looks really cool and its not that hard to do! Next week I start courses 3 which is fondant and tiered cakes and 4 where I will be making fondant and gum paste!!

So 4 weeks ago a started taking Wilton cake decorating classes. I've been taking them at Micheal's craft store and its been so fun! I usually decorate my cakes with fondant and I really didn't know how to use frosting. So the past few weeks I've made a character bunny cake with a star tip.

The one and only official Wilton rose.

Then our final project was to combine all the techniques into one final cake.

My co-workers have really appreciated all the tasty desserts i've been bringing them!

Next week I start course 2 and I'm way excited to learn more flowers.

Best Choice Ever!

So the best choice I've EVER made in my whole entire life... besides marrying Marsh ;) I got LASER hair removal! So this isn't just a spur of the moment decision I've researched this for about a year and I finally decided to do it! My first appointment was on the 27Th of February and I've already seen a huge change maybe this is TMI but I haven't shaved my armpits in like two weeks! Which is awesome because the laser hurt like a mother on my armpits. So how the laser works is it kills your hair follicle then the hair grows out and is reduced when it grows back. You need to have about 6 to 10 treatments then it won't grow back at all! I went last week to get my lower half done and I'm so excited to see those results! I love thinking about never having so shave my legs again!!!!

So Marshall and I have come up with a hobby that we both like to do. We LOVE making cakes and cupcakes! Which is odd because we both really don't like sweets and most of our creations go to waste. Marshall does most of the cleaning up while I do the decorating its a nice system lol. It all started when Marshall made a wedding cake for John Gillmore's wedding.

We then went on to making our wedding cake instead of buying an expensive one!

It took us hours to make our cake and cut out the thousand little flowers.

I think we both get our creativity from our mothers! Both of our mothers are very crafty and make everything by hand.

So ANOTHER semester has started again... I'm started to get really sick of school. I wish is was over and now I understand why people drop out of school. Even though I'm dying to stop school my dad would KILL me if i did. I think it has more to do with the weather that sucks and it needs to be the summer time. Where I can lay out and get tan again cuz I'm so white! This is Marshall's last semester and then he will have is BS!!! Then starts again in Fall 10'. We still don't know where we are going to have to move or if he will get accepted any where... knock on wood. But i'm so proud of him and hes a wonderful husband that works hard to make me happy.

The Holidays!

This year was our first real Thanksgiving and Christmas together even though we've been together for about 6 years! Its amazing how time flies! Thanksgiving was fun both of our families have meals at different times so that we can go to both sides. Christmas Eve the Milligans always throw a big party. This years theme was U of U. We all got matching pj's and stockings that were U of U print. This year it was just the immediate family which made things really fun. We played games to win prizes and money it got pretty violent but it was so much fun! Christmas was way fun even though Marshall missed a lot of it because of work :( I woke up at the crack of dawn to go to my mom's house to watch Brock, Matt, and Josh open their presents. It's always fun to have younger kids around during the holidays. Children make everything so much more exciting and fun! Brock had a ball and loved all his presents. Later that night we went to the Milligans to play games and open presents. I was way excited because I got a Wii and a camera! I love the holidays and I'm so happy that Marshall is with me!
